Gel-Lite III

This special mattress overlay is used for anyone who may be a candidate for bedsores or decubitus ulcers. It is one of the few products that Medicare and other insurance will pay on a preventative basis!

Gel-Lite is an effective way to prevent pressure ulcers. The gel tubes are uniquely designed to reduce areas of high pressure, protecting patients against a potentially serious and costly condition. Since this is a non-powered system, it is easy to use and maintain. The patient's bed surface is protected with a Gel-Lite III mattress overlay.

This overlay is perfect for hospital beds or can be used on top of any regular bed.

Qualifications for Medicare Coverage:

1. If you are completely immobile, you qualify under Medicare guidelines for this overlay.

2. If you are partially immobile, you qualify if BOTH of the following conditions are met:

a. If you have any type (any stage) ulcer on the trunk or pelvis, AND.

b. Have any medical condition such as incontinence, compromised circulatory status (i.e., diabetic nueropathy, numbness, peripheral vascular diseaese, etc.), sensory perception problems (numbness, can't feel limbs, etc.) or impaired nutritional status (interal feeding, unable to feed oneself, etc.)

A simple prescription is usually all that is required. We will contact your doctor, take care of all paperwork and file the insurance for you.
